ELEMENTAL RETREATS

biophilic by design to actively support health & wellbeing

Humans have a deeply engrained love of nature which is an intuitive and natural drive imprinted into our DNA. Elemental Retreats aims to provide 'a space for the Self', time to disconnect from the outside world and reconnect with the Self.

Embracing Earth, Fire, Air & Water we can help to support both mental and physical restoration, allowing guests to experience the most recharging retreats in nature.

Located at Garden House Sussex (Airbnb), at the heart of the South Downs National Park SSSI, Elemental Retreats offer opportunities for self reflection, healing & growth through sound healing, life coaching, guided meditations & eco-therapy.

OUR STORY

Elemental Retreats Sussex was founded in 2022, when Amanda & Lindsay, encouraged by their friends, identified a need for women of all ages to take some time out of their daily routines to be with themselves in nature.

Our Retreats offer opportunities for self reflection, healing and growth through sound healing, ecotherapy, heartwork & life coaching. Using biophilic design and our 'refuge spaces' - the magic, womb-like Mongolian Yurt & Woodland Nests to facilitate change.

Physical and mental wellbeing are of utmost importance to living a healthy life, and require practice and dedication. Our women-led Retreats provide the setting and guidance you need to strengthen your body, mind and soul.

BIOPHILIC DESIGN

The whole concept of Biophilia connects us to the wider world and our innate desire to protect and nurture that which feeds us and does us good, both physically and also emotionally - Edward O Wilson. Here at Garden House Sussex we are passionate about creating environments that promote wellness, positivity and growth.

THE MAGICAL YURT

Translated 'yurt' means 'home'. Yurts are stunning and feel almost sacred with their circular ways. Womb-like and nurturing, grounding and healing.

The Yurt is situated in a Grade II Listed Walled Garden and can be rented for overnight stays (subject to availability). Sleeps 2-4 guests and comes with its own outdoor kitchen, dining area & bathroom.

ECOTHERAPY

“Nature-deficit disorder describes the human costs of alienation from nature,” Louv writes, “among them: diminished use of the senses, attention difficulties, and higher rates of physical and emotional illnesses.” Without that connection to nature, people lose interest in protecting it and fail to see how connected it is to our lives — our food sources, our climate, our quality of life.
