ELEMENTAL RETREATS

biophilic by design to actively support health & wellbeing

Humans have a deeply engrained love of nature which is an intuitive and natural drive imprinted into our DNA. Elemental Retreats aims to provide 'a space for the Self', time to disconnect from the outside world and reconnect with the Self.

Embracing Earth, Fire, Air & Water we can help to support both mental and physical restoration, allowing guests to experience the most recharging retreats in nature.

Located at the heart of the South Downs National Park SSSI, Elemental Retreats offer opportunities for self reflection, healing & growth through sound healing, life coaching, guided meditations & eco-therapy.

Our Sanctuary

'Nature-deficit disorder describes the human costs of alienation from nature', Louv writes, 'among them are diminished use of the senses, attention difficulties and higher rates of physical and emotional illnesses. Without that connection to nature, people lose interest in protecting it and fail to see how connected it is to our lives - our food sources, our climate and our quality of life'.

Here at Elemental Retreats we are passionate about creating biophilic spaces and environments that promote wellness, postivity and growth in nature. 'The concept of biophilia connects us to the wider world and our innate desire to protect and nurture that which feeds us and does us good, both physically and emotionally', Edward O'Wilson. We are fortunate to be able to host Elemental Retreats at two unique sanctuaries; at Garden House Sussex and Sussex Sweet Retreat, both sites offer guest accommodation should you choose to stay with us in nature.

Retreat venues

Becketts, Tripp Hill, Fittleworth

RH20 1ER

Sussex Sweet Retreat is located in the picturesque village of Fittleworth in the South Downs National Park, close to Lords Piece, Coates Common SSSI. Our space here works to actively encourage heart-opening, self-care & playfulness using sound and shamanic techniques in nature. By absorbing ourselves in nature we can strengthen our own connection to both nature and nurture. Using the elements of earth, fire, water & air to create opportunities for self reflection healing and growth.

Our retreat space at Garden House Sussex is set in eleven acres of stunning countryside & historic woodland. Here we use nature to create magical spaces for guests to relax, reconnect & grow. The 'Yurt' (translated as 'home'), will protect and cradle you, while still keeping you connected to the outside environment - some say it feels like returning to the comfort of the womb. The round shape & grounded feeling of the Yurt encourages everyone to speak with equal power and openness. Plus, the acoustics for sound healing are incredible.

nature

nature is truth that has given given to us; a truth that we take for granted. When the mountains tell us, what the clouds tell us, what the moon tells us... what we feel from nature depends on our heart, as we observe, as we listen. Fine tune the receptors of your heart and feel what nature is telling you.

self care

the practice of taking an active role in protecting one's own well-being and happiness, in particular during periods of stress. 'expressing oneself is an essential form of self care'.

the practice of taking action to preserve or improve one's own health.

Holding space for you to heal

'By sharing our fears, tears, shame and vulnerability we can remind ourselves that we are not alone, and together, we can find the resilience to move forward'.
